Did somebody say "shots"?
Did you know that doing shots is a great boost for your immune system?
Okay, so I'm not talking about tequila. BUT, this immunity shot recipe that I'm about to share with you is the perfect remedy for dodging the bug that's going around in your home, at work, or at school.
Like tequila, this shot is pretty strong, but it does the trick by keeping those infectious demons at bay. I also have to warn you, it can get a little messy...
The Immunity Shot
What you'll need & Why:
1 lemon (more vitamin C than an orange- 'nough said!)
1-2 garlic cloves, finely chopped (natural anti-biotic and anti-inflammatory)
1/8 t cayenne pepper (capsaicin to kill bacteria, viruses and clear sinuses)
1 T raw honey (soothing to the throat and belly)
What to do:
Cut the lemon in half and squeeze one half into a small bowl (try to avoid seeds). Add garlic, cayenne and honey and mix well. Pour the mixture back into the squeezed lemon and consume in it's entirety, including the pulp (skin optional!).
Like I said, it's intense, but I know you'll feel the boost almost immediately. And honestly, most people say it tastes awesome. Just be sure to pop a breath mint if you're heading to work after! Or not... depending on how you feel about being close to your co-workers all day ;)
Tip: Use the other half of the lemon for a second shot 4 hours later. That cold won't stand a chance!
